Resolved Question: Did the man cry when he saw what I did to his stash?
One summer’s day back in 97 I was walking around the ancient agora in athens when it hit me that I should maybe search for some ancient coins. So I go to this random place and start poking my hand in the dirt. As I’m over there searching, I feel this plastic bag, I think to myself, bingo!! I found the mother load!! A small voice in the back of my head says, hey genius, ancient greeks didn’t have plastic bags! So I shoot back, whatever! anything over here has to be something, maybe gold coins from the andartes, whatever it is I hit the big time, voice, why don’t you pipe down now! I pull the bag out and there’s 2 kilo bags full of white powder. I’m thinking COME ON! Cocaine!! I don’t use it and I’d be way too scared to sell it, so I tore both bags and threw them to the ground and walked away. My question is, was the guy mad, how much would they have been worth, and what were the odds of me finding that there, and also was that a really stupid place to hide them?
Pandora, I agree with you. One of the saddest things I’ve ever seen are strung out junkies. Why would anyone want to become like that?
St. Christofer, the odds of me finding those bags have to be astronomical. But maybe not so much considering millions of tourists visit every year that it was bound to happen? It was kind of far away from the temples, in a very remote spot. There’s no way I could have reported it to anyone since I was engaging in “un-authorized archeology” also didn’t want them to think it was my own stash, but you know how greeks are.
Open Question: Is the US Rare coin and Bullion reserve legit or a scam? have you tried it?
I live in NY. You know those free papers in New York that are short and have articles that you would find almost everywhere within the 5 boroughs of New York. In one of the called am New york that is a.m. New York. There is an advertisement and/or article about the rare gold coins they(the rare coin and Bullion reserve) mentioned that they are not affiliated with the U.S. government right under the name of their company. they said the coins are $5 dollar ones that they are selling in between $100-300 for one. and they said that it is best to transfer a minimum 30 percent of your assets into Gold. they said that gold coins get a value up to 5 times or more of the amount of U.S. currency/dollars that you put into it if the value/price if predictions about Gold price increases become reality. Also on the bottom they mentioned that there is no guarantee that the price/value of Gold will go up or down.
Open Question: Purchasing Gold Questions?
Hi,
When you purchase gold in the form of bullion or coins from a bank.
Will the bank re-buy the gold? or do you have to find other means of selling the gold? What about if it was a certificate can you re-sell your certificate at any time for the current gold price?
What are tour current thoughts on purchasing gold? Is it way to high to purchase?
I’m really new to investing. Thanks in advance for all the help!
