Open Question: 2 Cats, 1 litter, Will it work?
So, I have a 14 month old male ragdoll. I am looking into getting him a friend. Hopefully a lady friend.
The cat I am currently looking at is a 9 month old de-sexed male raggie.
So my question is, will the two cats use the same box or will we need to get a new one and place it else where for the 2nd cat? My current raggie has his in the laundry, and I think we can squeeze a smaller box in the main toilet, which is a single room with the toilet. The basin is in another room. My current cats box is quite large, and will not fit. Also, We have a small courtyard in the center of the house with 10ft walls, and a loose screen that allows my raggie to enter and exit as he pleases, could we place the new cats tray out there, or will he not like it out in the open?
Im aware that we will need to give them 2 separate food bowls and everything.
Also note that these cats will not ever be allowed ‘outside’. My raggie goes out in the courtyard because he cant escape and loves to sun bake. He has a 6ft cat scratcher to simulate tree-climbing. He loves it ^-^.We do not wish to breed these raggies so the new one will be de-sexed, if not already.
We can’t really afford a large amount to buy the cat itself, but we can afford to keep it. Does anyone know someone who sells cheap or free raggies in the Gold Coast area, in Australia? We are looking for a seal point, either sex. I would like a mitted but it isnt vital.
I’ve looked at many breeders on the Gold Coast, and they all cost anywhere between $700-$1000+, which we can’t afford. I am hoping for something free-$200. I know beggers cant be choosers so I am happy with a healthy seal point. (Seal point cause my current raggies is blue bi-colour =D )
OH and btw. Many people are suggesting ‘clean it every day’. I already do this with 1 cat!! He uses a 15L bag of ‘Breeders Choice’ cat litter every week due to this fact. If I don’t change it daily, he gets cranky and uses the couch!!! For some reason, he does 2-3 poos in a single day.. Hmmm….
